Authorities have confirmed the recovery of the body of Alleacya Boulia in the Sol Duc Valley area of Olympic National Park, ending months of uncertainty following her disappearance during a solo trip.
The discovery was made on Friday, February 6, according to officials familiar with the search operation.
At this stage, investigators have not released a cause of death and have not publicly indicated whether the case is being treated as suspicious.
A full forensic examination is pending as part of standard investigative procedure.
Boulia had traveled from St. Louis to Washington in November for what family members described as a personal vacation. She was reported missing after she stopped communicating with relatives.
On November 30, law enforcement located her rental car near the Sol Duc Trailhead inside Olympic National Park, prompting an intensive search of the surrounding wilderness.
During the initial investigation, officers reported finding items inside the vehicle that included an Olympic National Park maintenance checklist and pool-related equipment.
Authorities have not clarified how those materials relate to the case, stressing that all findings remain under review while investigators work to reconstruct Boulia’s movements prior to her disappearance.
The Sol Duc Valley, known for its dense forest, rivers, and steep terrain, posed significant challenges for search teams over the past several months.
Multiple agencies participated in coordinated efforts, using ground searches and aerial support in an attempt to locate Boulia.
Officials confirmed that next of kin have been notified of the recovery.
The investigation now shifts to determining the circumstances surrounding her death, with authorities stating that further updates will be provided once verified information becomes available.
As the case continues, family members and friends are mourning the loss of Alleacya Boulia, remembering her while awaiting answers from the ongoing investigation.
